Here are the winners of the 2009 Team Awards.

Cubs Season Ends against Red Sox:
The Cubs lost game 2 of the Semi-finals Tuesday night
against the Red Sox ending their 2009 SCS season.
Some members of the team will now wait to play in the
Michigan Cup in late September and the Capital City
Classic in Columbus in early October.

Red Sox Silence Cubs:
The Red Sox scored five first inning runs but one would
have been enough as the Cubs were shutout 6-0 in game
one of the second round series.
Cubs Beat Tigers in Slugfest:
The Cubs and Tigers slugged it out Monday night and the
Cubs prevailed to win the first round series two games
to none. The Cubs now wait for the second round on
Sunday.

Cubs Take Game 1:
The Cubs are half way to avenging their first round loss
last year to the Tigers as they beat the Tigers 6-0 in
game 1 of the playoffs.

With a win Thursday night the Tigers leap frogged the
Mets and Reds for sixth place and the chance to play the
Cubs in the first round for the second straight year.
The Cubs look to avenge their two game sweep to the
Tigers last year.

After forfeiting to the Tigers on July 19 the Cubs
finished the season winning their last eight games.
They capped it off Monday night with a 9-0 win over the
Reds.

On Friday night the Cubs took down the Mets 8-0 and then
on Sunday the Cubs beat the Tigers 13-3.

Thursday night as they scored 9 runs in the sixth to

Despite missing five of their regulars the Cubs easily
handled the Tigers on Sunday afternoon as they mercied
them in five innings 14-1.

The Cubs and Orioles went at it Thursday night and the
Cubs came out on top beating the Orioles in a hard
fought game from both teams 7-3.

Cubs Win After Long Break:
With the rainout last week the Cubs played for the first
time in 11 days on Wednesday night beating the Yankees
5-0.

Rainout Rescheduled:
The rainout between the Cubs and Reds on July 23rd has
been rescheduled to be played on Monday, August 10 at
8:30 at Mt Clemens. This will be the Cubs final
regular season game.

The Cubs-Reds game on Thursday, July 23 was rained out.
A makeup date has yet to be announced.
After Forfeit Cubs Win Second Game:
The Cubs had to do the unthinkable on Sunday and forfeit
their first game of a doubleheader as they had two guys
cancel at the last minute on Sunday morning. In
the second game though they took care of the Yankees
5-2.

Marlins Top Cubs in Extras:
The Cubs and Marlins battled it out in extra-innings
last night. The Cubs came back three times to take
the lead or tie but couldn't pull it out in the end.

The Cubs came back from a 4-1 deficit Sunday to beat the
Red Sox 9-5 to finish the season series with the Sox at
two games apiece.

It looked like a slugfest at the start but in the end
only the Red Sox participated as the Cubs lost 9-3 to
the second place team.

Bats Come Around in Win:
A pitchers duel turned into a 7-0 win for the Cubs
against the Reds Thursday night. The Cubs now have
over a week off when they play the second place Red Sox
Friday, July 10.

Cubs Score 41 in Doubleheader:
The Cubs bats came alive Sunday as they knocked out 39
hits and scored 41 runs in the two games. The
first the game the Cubs won in a blow out 19-1 but the
second the Cubs needed 3 in the seventh to tie but then
blew it open in the eights and won 22-10.

Bats Fall Asleep Again:
After getting a mercy win in their last game the Cubs
bats went silent again Monday night. No-hit
through five the Cubs managed only three hits and one
run in their 6-1 loss to the Yankees.

Cubs get First Mercy Win:
The Cubs bats finally came alive and along with a strong
pitching performance the Cubs beat the Reds 11-1
Wednesday night for their first mercy win of the year.
The Cubs are now 10-6 and next play Monday, June 22
against the Yankees.

Brewers Take Down Cubs Again:
The Cubs just can't seem to beat the Brewers when Pete
Brees is on the mound. The Cubs lost for the
second time this year to the Brewers. The Cubs
have now lost two in a row and next face the Reds on
Wednesday night.
Orioles End Cubs Winning Streak:
The Orioles shut down the Cubs offense, holding them to
a lone run, beating them 5-1 and ending their seven game
winning streak. The Cubs fall to 9-5 and will see
the Brewers on Sunday.

Cubs Win Seventh in a Row:
The Cubs took on the Brewers Sunday afternoon and
cruised to an easy 10-4 victory for their seventh
straight win. The Cubs next take on the Orioles
Wednesday night.

The Cubs continued their winning ways by taking down the
first place Red Sox Wednesday night. The Cubs have
now won six in a row. The Cubs now face the
Brewers on Sunday.

In their first meeting since last year's playoff sweep
by the Tigers the Cubs got a little revenge beating the
Tigers 9-0. The win stretched the Cubs winning
streak to five games. The Cubs now take on the
first place Red Sox Wednesday night.

Four in a Row:
The Cubs won their fourth in a row on Sunday as they
took care of the Yankees 13-4. The game was never
in doubt for the Cubs as they jumped on the Yankees
early and often. The Cubs have a couple tough
games during the week with the Tigers and Red Sox.

Cubs Back to .500:
The Cubs won for the second time in a row Tuesday night
beating the Reds 5-1 and are now back at a .500 record.
This was a close one until the sixth when the Cubs added
3 runs to their 2-0 lead. The Cubs now take on the
Mets on Friday night.

Cubs Lose Third Straight:
The Cubs took on the Red Sox Wednesday night and it
looked to be a back and fourth game throughout but the
Sox put up a 6-spot in the fourth and the Cubs couldn't
come back from that. This was the Cubs third loss
in a row. The Cubs look for some payback against
the Brewers Thursday night.

The Cubs get Blown Out and then Blow one:
It was not a good day for the Cubs as they lost both
ends of their doubleheader on Sunday. In game 1
the Cubs were blanked by the Marlins 7-0 and then in
game 2 the upstart Brewers came back and beat the Cubs
8-7.
Cubs-Tigers Rained Out:
The Cubs and Tigers game was rained out Wednesday night.
No make-up date has been set yet. The Cubs next
take on the Marlins and Brewers in a doubleheader on
Sunday.
Payback versus Marlins:
After losing to the Marlins Monday night the Cubs gave
them some payback as they came from behind to win 7-4.
The Cubs scored 4 runs in the top of the seventh for
their second win of the year.

Cubs Drop One to the Marlins:
The Cubs suffered their first loss of the year as they
lost 5-1 to the Marlins. They will try to get back
on track against the same Marlins on Thursday night.
Cubs Win Season Opener:
The Cubs took on the Orioles in their season opener and
came away with a win. Lyle Dougherty threw a
complete game shut out and Dave Reitman drove in the
Cubs only run as the Cubs won 1-0.
Season Starts Sunday:
The Cubs will kick off the 2009 season Sunday May 3
versus the Orioles at 3:30pm.
Schedule Released - UPDATED:
The Cubs full schedule was released. It is now
final.

Cubs Sign Two:
The
Cubs signed two players this week. The first is Matt Van de Velde a
left handed pitcher who also can play first and the outfield. Matt
will primarily pitch this year and sub in the field. Matt formally
played on the Yankees. The second is Chris Trombley, formally of the
Angles. Chris is an infielder who can play all four infield positions.

initial 3-weeks of the Cubs Schedule
is out. This schedule is still tentative as the league awaits approval

Cubs Begin 2009
Practices:
The
Cubs will start their preparation for the 2009 season Wednesday night at 9pm
at the DBA this week.
