In 2005 Tom started the season as a backup infielder and outfielder but by the end of the year he was in the line-up almost on an everyday basis.  Tom saw a lot more time in the field this year both behind the plate and in left.  Tom set career highs in RBI, walks, batting average, on-base percentage, slugging and OPS.  Each year Tom has improved in one aspect or another in his game.  As evidence of this Tom has won the Most Improved Player award twice, in 2005 and 2006.
